What is the benefit of event sponsorship for your business?

As mentioned above, event sponsorship is hugely impactful for the growth of your business. It allows you to access people you don’t wouldn’t be able to without. 

You get to capitalise on the back of all the hard work that the business hosting the event has done. They promote, create the content and fill the seats. You simply turn up ready to chat to prospects.

We have recently done an event with our friends at Klaviyo and Dataships and they have both managed to secure business from this. Not only this, Klaviyo got in front of an esteemed brand that they had been struggling to contact for months. 

It is both a hugely successful brand and performance tactic. If you want to increase your brand profile or fatten up your sales pipeline, event sponsorship is a tactic you should definitely explore.

But, don’t just sponsor every event. Think tactfully. Which events will entice my target audience, what do I want to be associated with AND which event will generate a profitable return for my business. 

How do you know which type of event sponsorship is right for you?

It depends on your objective and who your target audience are. 

Each style of event combines a mixture of brand and performance benefits, but some yield quicker results than others.

Masterclasses are great for lead generation. These people are giving up their time to learn about a certain topic that you are an expert in. They are a hot lead.

Dinners/lunches, while exclusive and luxury, are great brand builders. Treat them like a date and don’t be too pushy. This type of event may take a few months to really yield the results that you desire, but they do work. 

People buy from people. Making people feel special allows them to build a connection with your business and they will more than likely choose you when they are ready to buy.

My advice is to attend many events to see which ones you want your brand to be associated with. Try dipping your feet in sponsorship and then double down on what works!
